Apple to acquire Beats Electronics for $3.2B
Apple is reportedly in talks to acquire Beats Electronics in a deal worth $3.2 billion. Beat electronics, the high-end-headphone maker co-founded by hip-hop artist Dr. Dre, according to the Financial Times. The report says, the deal is expected to be announced as early as next week , but has yet to be finalized and could still fail to materialize pending discussions between the two companies via @Cnet
Adobe launches Voice for iPad to make storytellers of us all
Aobe has launched Voice, a free multimedia iPad app that puts the creation of narrative, animated videos directly into consumers’ hands. It features real-time motion graphics, audio sweetening, and HD video output without the need for photo or video experience or design training. Adobe Voice is designed to substitute for and enhance PowerPoint-style deck presentations by placing the emphasis on both audio and visual elements. Future iPhones Could Capture ‘Super-Resolution’ Photos Using Optical Image Stabilization
On Thursday, the US Patent & Trademark Office published Apple patent application number 20140125825 that describes a method of producing super-resolution images using optical image stabilization (OIS) and burst-mode photos. Reportedly, this may allow future models of the iPhone to generate images that exceed the megapixel resolution limits of the camera hardware via @MacRumors
KitKat Still on Less Than 10% of Android Devices
Despite steady growth of Android most recent version, KitKat’s adoption rate, is still low, which was first released last October, is now running on 8.5% of Android devices, according to Google’s most recent numbers via @Mashable
Google Buys Stackdriver, a Cloud Monitoring Service Provider
Google announced on Thursday that it has acquired cloud monitoring service Stackdriver. In the coming months, the search giant plans to roll many of the service’s features into its Cloud Platform. However, the financial details of the acquisition weren’t disclosed, but the company has raised a total of $15 million in venture funding in two rounds led by Bain Capital and Flybridge Capital respectively via @Techcrunch
